Job Description

Title: Aerospace Fitter                                         Reporting to: Manufacturing Manager

Position: Permanent                                  Location: Sandbach, Cheshire, UK

Hours of Work: 37 Hours per week

Salary: £ subject to experience and qualifications

AVS-SYS Ltd provides repair and overhaul of aircraft structures and components from its location in the United Kingdom.

 Job Summary:

Repair and overhaul of metallic and composite aircraft assemblies and components, including leading edges and engine cowls for a number of regional aircraft types.

 Duties, Skills and Responsibilities:

Carry out composite and sheet metal repair and/or manufacture.

Previous experience with drilling, cutting, grinding, fastener removal and installation, assembly bonding, trimming and finishing is essential.

Experience with various materials including aluminium, titanium and composites is desirable.

Maintain a high level of workmanship in a safe manner, meeting AVS-SYS health and safety guidelines

Put forward ideas to improve the efficiency and productivity of the organisation

Other tasks as required to support deadlines and customer requirements.

Confident to work with large tools and production parts which require multiple processes

 Education / Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in an aerospace manufacturing environment in the manufacture, fabrication, assembly or repair of aircraft structures.  Experience of paint spraying an advantage.

Please provide apprenticeship papers or NVQ certificate(s).

Current Driving licence.
